In other words, I play the piano a lot and practice tons and tons!!! :) When I graduate, I am going to teach piano lessons full time. Right now, I have a few students that I teach and I've been teaching piano for about 2 years. Besides teaching, I was a church pianist for the past 5 yers, a personal nanny for as long as I can remember, and a college librarian. On June 7th, 2008 I got married to the most wonderful man in the world! In this IT class I hope to learn more about computers and how they work as well as learn about the new technology that is out there.

Shaun Berger said...

Hello.

My name is Shaun Berger. I am currently in my second year of college, but this is my first year at Columbus State University. I am a Columbus native, but last year I attended Berry College in Rome, GA. I loved Berry's academic challenge, the beauty of the campus' nature, and the culture of a small college community. However, I often desired to be back home with my closest friends...I didn't find the friends at Berry that I expected to find. When I returned home for the summer, I contemplated the idea of returning to my hometown of Columbus and attending CSU. When I found out about an internship opportunity with a local high school ministry called Teen Advisors, I was pretty much set on transfering.

So here I am, back in the great town of Columbus, GA. I am inteding to major in Psychology, which I plan on using in future careers of teaching, youth ministry, and counseling. I currently work as a Field Staff Intern at Teen Advisors, a peer counseling organization for high school students. For that job I help organize Teen Advisor classroom sessions at Hardaway High School, I help plan Teen Advisor and Nights of Sheer Manliness (a male-only division of Teen Advisors) events, and I make build mentor / friend relationships witht the students. I love my job with Teen Advisors. I also work one day a week at the Chick-fil-A on Wynnton Road.

In my free time I enjoy listening to and writing / performing music. I play guitar, piano, and sing...and I especially love to play for people and lead praise and worship music. I also enjoy reading, watching films, and spending time with my closest friends. I also spend time going to Bible studies and getting to know the Lord personally. I try not be religious, but wholly lean on the Grace and Mercy of Jesus Christ and His strong Love for me.

Additional hobbies include growing facial hair and getting tattoos.

I hope to grow in my understanding of computer knowledge during this semester. I would consider myself to be computer literate, but I would like to further my knowledge in basic areas such as Excel and more advanced areas such as the interior of a computer.

Hey there! My name is Alishia Taylor and I am a sophomore at Columbus State University, majoring in Psychology in order to become a high school guidance counselor. As far as my hobbies are concerned, I LOVE writing poetry, singing, dancing, hanging out with friends and family, talking on the phone, attending church, having fun, and just having some "me" time. I feel that this IT class will help me have a better understanding of different programs, such as Microsoft Excel and Access, as well as give me the opportunity to pass this information on to my family and friends for their future reference.

Hey! My name is Danielle Prescott and I'm in my first semester of my freshman year. I am a History and Secondary Education major and have always wanted to be a teacher. I'm a pretty big nerd but passionate about history, fashion, and music. I have always enjoyed history and actually like reading social studies text books and am crazy about fashion and altering my clothes and shopping second hand for retro wear. I have a long list of favorite bands and I love going to see them live.
I'm from Douglasville which is about 2 hours from here, 30 minutes from Atlanta.I worked at a Jusitce, Just for Girls in Douglasville and got transferred to the one in Columbus. All the girls are so cute and I love doing birthday parties.
In this class I hope to get a better handle on computer programs other than word and how to use the internet.

I love working with children and I am currently a Nanny for a couple in the Columbus area. I am one of four kids in my family; and I enjoy shopping, taking long walks on the beach, and spending time with my family. I also enjoy taking trips to the beach and going on cruises.

Computers are widely used in the of nursing. They help monitor heart rates, blood pressure, and record data. In many cases computers identify problems with the human body, saving time, money, and the lives of people throughout the world. Hello. My name is Geneva Wilmot. This is my second semester in college and I am enjoying it! I work at REMITCO where I process checks and other paper payments. I like to shop, kickbox and just have fun in general. I will be 20 years old on the 28th of this month. I am proud to say that I don't live at home and I pay all of my bills all by myself. I am a diehard UGA fan! I just recently declared my major which is General Business. I'm not absolutely sure that I won't change that in the future, but as of now that's what I'm interested in looking into. Anytime you are actively involved with a business and its day to day duties, you will probably be using a computer at one time or another. All of the microsoft office programs will come in handy and you will need to be connected to the internet as well. If you really think about it, most occupations these days will need some type of computer experience. I hope that we will go over how to use the office programs a bit more into detail. I can use them, but I know that I could learn more about them and use them more efficiently. Also, I doubt that we will get into any webdesign, but if we do I would be excited! I took a webpage design class in highschool and loved it.

My name is Amber A-L. Carlisle. I am a Studio Art major with emphasis in Metals/Jewelry, and currently a Sophomore. I have been though all 50 states and five countries. This was because my father was an officer in the Navy, so while I was culturally enrichment it was detrimental to any social relationships, as I never lived in one place exceeding one year. This resulted in my becoming a recluse at a very young age, and did nothing but indulgence myself in reading, crafts, and video games. In that I think is where I developed my passion for art.

My works range from metalworking/jewelry, graphic design, to miniature sculpture. I have various hobbies and interesting ranging from gaming, reading, to old vintage styles of clothing (ie. Victorian) and avant garde fashion.

What I think I want out of this course is to perhaps gave a better understanding of some the various web coding source.

Hello,
My name is Brandi, I am a new sophomore at CSU. I am trying to obtain a sociology degree, yet I do not really know what I plan on doing with it. I am known for changing my mind. I am currently on a school option from the U.S. Army, which is not as easy as I thought it would be. But I am hanging in. I took this class so that I would have a better understanding of the programs that the Army has me use everyday.... i.e.....power point, excel, and so on.

I chose this major mainly because of my love for reading and writing, although my grammar and spelling skills are horrible. I also decided to teach because I seem to work well with older children. I plan on obtaining my Masters in this field. Mostly my hobbies include reading, writing, and music. I am really laid back and quiet at times. Also I like to hang out with my friends and just relax and not worry about all the things I usually worry about on a day to day basis.

Hey, I'm Katelyn McTamney. I'm originally from Fishers, Indiana and I just transferred to CSU after being at Wallace State Community College, located in Alabama, for the past 3 years. I cheered my first two years and took a year off to go to school last year. I still have yet to know how my parents even let me come further away this year to Georgia! My major is physical education and I love teaching kids of all ages. I have a great job in the summer traveling in Indiana and throughout the midwest teaching cheerleading camps for UCA. [You know when you see those competitions on ESPN, that's our company!] I got the chance this summer to go out to the Univ. of Santa Barbara- California and Univ. of Milwaukee at Wisconsin to work college camps this year and teach people my own age, which I was really excited about. In my 'spare' time, I cheer here at CSU and do the usual; hang out with friends, visit my boyfriend who plays baseball at Jacksonville State in Alabama, and love watching college football and the Indianapolis Colts! I'm excited to learn different things in this class and hopefully figure out some of these features my new computer has to offer me that I have no clue about! =]
